The catalogue

The KHBi4 catalogue as the central publication of the 4th KloHäuschen Biennial is the prior place where the “actual” artworks of the exhibition “Displaying Strategies” are located. In Ottobrunn and in the KloHäuschen the exhibition “Displaying Strategies” shows contributions to each of these according works. Those contributions belong to the works and in the creation process they may have been relevant. Here in the catalog, each of the “real” artistic works, to which the presented contributions refer, are presented by the artists in image and text.

Thus, the catalogue is a valuable companion to the exhibition and invites you to explore relations between the artistic works of the Biennial’s 34 artists and the contributions displayed there. And that’s why it was already presented at the opening of the 4th KloHäuschen Biennial on June 30th 2018 at the Gartenlaube in Ottobrunn.

In addition, the catalogue gives an introduction to the idea of the 4th KloHäuschen Biennial. It describes how the KloHäuschen came up with the idea of wanting to “Learn from Ottobrunn”. It offers a first glimpse into the exhibition idea “Displaying Strategies” by Pietro Tondello as well as the approach to the exhibition architecture with which Matthias Castorph challenges the KloHäuschen “to take itself seriously as Biannial exhibition space”.

With contribution from Matthias Castorph, Alexis Dworsky, Andreas Mitterer, Anett Frontzek, Anette Friedrich Johanessen, Anja Buchheister, ATHOR & Schmidt, Carolin Wenzel, Fabian Feichter, Fridolin Kleie, Gemma Meulendijks & Justina Seiler, Günter Nosch, Helen Varley Jamieson & Annie Abrahams, Johannes Evers, Judith Egger, Lena Hendlmeier, Lina Zylla, Lutz Weinmann, Manuel Eitner, Maria Berauer, MarinA, Mediendienst Leistungshölle, Monika Kapfer, Monika Supé, Nikolai Vogel, Patricia Wich, Rasha Ragab, rasso rottenfusser, Regina Baierl, Silke Markefka, Simona Andrioletti, Sophie Lindner, Stephanie Felber mit Luise Lochmann, Susanne Görtz, Veronika Veit and the KloHäuschen.
